Three Injured in NJ Turnpike Accident Involving Motor Vehicle and Tractor Trailer

Recently a collision between a motor vehicle and a tractor-trailer occurred on the New Jersey Turnpike that reminds us of the dangers of collisions involving commercial vehicles and trucks.

Somewhere near mile marker 8. According to police reports, a car overturned after it hit the rear of a tractor-trailer and the accident included entrapment.

Three were injured in the accident, with one victim unresponsive. The victims were transported by ambulance to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Although two medical helicopters were dispatched, they were recalled later on.

New Jersey State Police say that a female from Hackensack was driving her vehicle northbound when she ran off the road, striking the center of the median. The Nissan Altima bounced back onto the roadway, and then ended up partially underneath the tractor-trailer.

Among those who responded to the accident scene were Auburn Volunteer Fire Co., Life Support 1, Life Support 5, Life Support 100, Gloucester County Ambulances, and Carneys Point Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad. The incident remains to be under investigation.
