ABC News is reporting that law enforcement and the public are in mourning after NJ State Trooper Sean Cullen was killed while working an accident scene late Monday.
Trooper Cullen was on foot when he was hit by a car passing the original accident scene, which involved a vehicle on fire. That vehicle was also struck after Cullen was hit, causing the burning vehicle to spin around.
The accident happened Monday night in West Deptford at 8:00 p.m. The location was at I-295 near Exit 23.
A helicopter transported Trooper Cullen to Cooper University Hospital but he passed after midnight. The 22-year-old driver of the striking vehicle stopped after the collision. She is said to be cooperating with State Police.
