According to NJ.com, Winslow police say Nicholas G. Opalenick, 79, died Thursday afternoon when his car collided with a car driven by Michael J. Healey, 61. Opalenick was a resident of Mount Laurel and Healey is a resident of Franklinville. There is no report on Healey’s current condition.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Watsontown Road and New Freedom Road in Camden County. The authorities say Opalenick was driving south on Watsontown Road while Healey was driving east on New Freedom Road. For some unknown reason, their vehicles collided at the intersection of the two streets.
Opalenick died shortly after the accident. Healey was sent to Virtua Hospital with serious injuries. The crash is still being investigated for its cause.
